Our Origin

Rest in Pelee was born out of a deep human longing carried quietly for years by our founder, Mr. Manu Augustine. Driven by the conviction that every individual possesses a complex embodied, healthy lifestyle, Mr. Manu established this centre to bridge the gap between rigorous clinical expertise and genuine human connection.

Meet Mr.Manu Augustine: Over a decade of experience in Social work and Traditional East Indian Therapies.

My professional journey is rooted in a strong academic foundation and a deep commitment to holistic health and human well-being. I began my education with a Bachelor of Science in Botany from Mahatma Gandhi University in 2002, which gave me a solid understanding of plant science and the natural world—knowledge that later became integral to my work in natural medicine and Ayurveda.

Driven by a passion for helping people, I went on to complete a Master of Social Work with a specialization in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work from Madurai Kamaraj University in 2006. This training equipped me with clinical insight, counseling skills, and a compassionate, person-centered approach to mental health care and social support.

As my interest in holistic and integrative healing deepened, I pursued advanced studies in natural medicine and earned my Doctor of Natural Medicine qualification from the International Board of Alternative Medicine (IBAM) in 2016. To further strengthen my practical skills, I completed a Diploma in Ayurveda Panchakarma in 2018, gaining hands-on expertise in traditional Ayurvedic therapies and detoxification practices.

In recognition of my professional standards and qualifications, I became registered with the Examining Board of Natural Medicine Practitioners in Canada in 2022, enabling me to practice within the Canadian framework of natural and complementary health care.

Professionally, I bring over 15 years of combined experience across social work and Ayurvedic practice, both in India and Canada. I have worked as a Social Worker, primarily in medical and psychiatric settings, supporting individuals and families through counseling, rehabilitation, and community-based interventions. Alongside this, I have experience as an Ayurvedic Practitioner, offering authentic Panchakarma therapies, and holistic wellness programs rooted in traditional knowledge.

My work today reflects an integrated approach—combining scientific understanding, psychosocial care, and traditional healing systems—to support physical, mental, and emotional well-being. I believe true wellness arises when the mind, body, and environment are treated as one, and this philosophy guides every aspect of my practice.
